Arxan National Geopark in Inner Mongolia recently passed UNESCO's revalidation process, earning the prestigious "green card" certification and securing its status as a UNESCO Global Geopark through 2028.

Located in Arxan city within Inner Mongolia's Hinggan League, the geopark is renowned for its striking geological formations, volcanic landscapes, hot springs, granite landforms, lakes, and rivers.

With an area of over 3,650 square kilometers, the park comprises four major zones: Tianchi, Wenquan, Halaha, and Haosengou. It serves as a vital natural laboratory for understanding the geological evolution of northern China and functions as a multifaceted destination for scientific research, ecological tourism, science education, and leisure.

Since joining the Global Geoparks Network in 2017, Arxan has remained committed to the conservation and responsible development of its geological heritage. The park has advanced public education, scientific research, and community engagement efforts, playing a pivotal role in promoting regional sustainable development.

This renewed certification from UNESCO signifies strong international recognition of Arxan's achievements in geoconservation, public science education, and sustainability.
