On July 10 at 2:50 pm, Mongolian Hunnu Air flight MR861 landed at Ereenhot Saiwusu International Airport, marking the official opening of Ereenhot's airport and the launch of a new international air route to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

The new route establishes a direct air corridor between Ereenhot city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region and Mongolia, filling a key gap in the region's multimodal transportation system and enhancing connectivity across road, rail, and air.

Zhu Shijie, deputy general manager of Ereenhot airport, noted that the new route will enhance people-to-people exchanges, trade, and tourism cooperation between China and Mongolia, creating more convenient air travel options and strengthening Erenhot's role in northbound connectivity.

As China's largest land port to Mongolia and the closest Chinese city to Ulaanbaatar, Ereenhot serves as a strategic gateway for China's northward opening.
