In the first half of 2025, the total export value of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region reached 39.53 billion yuan ($5.51 billion), marking a 3.6 percent year-on-year increase. This growth is attributed to the stability of traditional industries, rapid development of emerging sectors, and continued market diversification.

The region's top five export categories were electromechanical products, agricultural goods, basic organic chemicals, steel, and labor-intensive products, together accounting for 64.7 percent of total exports.

Agricultural exports reached 6.24 billion yuan, up 10.7 percent from the same period last year, accounting for 15.8 percent of the region's export value. Products like sunflower seeds saw strong demand in emerging markets such as the Middle East and Southeast Asia, driving overall growth.

Several specialty agricultural products achieved first-time exports this year, including fresh-cut flowers from Ulaanqab and astragalus from Wuchuan.

High-tech industries also contributed significantly. Exports of high-tech products increased by 34.4 percent to 4.67 billion yuan, with organic chemicals alone accounting for 3.26 billion yuan, a 19.9 percent year-over-year rise.

In terms of market diversification, Inner Mongolia continued to strengthen its trade ties with Russia and Mongolia while expanding into new markets. In the first half of the year, the region recorded export growth to 112 countries and regions.
