A China-Europe freight train loaded with 55 containers passed through Ereenhot Railway Port in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Aug 3. But this wasn't just any freight train, it was the 20,000th train trip to pass through Ereenhot since the port began operation in 2013.
As a key hub on the border of China and Mongolia, Ereenhot port has seen rapid growth in train routes, frequency, and cargo volume, driven by the deepening of China's international trade cooperation. The freight has evolved from primarily metals, chemicals, and garments to high-value goods such as new energy vehicles, electronics, and home appliances.

The port reached its 10,000-trip milestone in 2022, but remarkably, the second 10,000 trips were completed in just three years.
The port currently operates 73 routes, connecting over 70 logistics hubs across more than 10 countries, including Germany and Poland, and linking over 60 cities across 24 provinces in China.
