Hohhot's industrial output up 6.6% in H1
Hohhot's industrial sector maintained a steady recovery in the first half of this year, with key indicators improving, and industrial enterprises above the designated size seeing a 6.6 percent year-on-year added value growth, 0.5 percentage points higher than this year's first quarter.
Manufacturing drove expansion, with 6.3 percent year-on-year growth, up 1.4 points from the first quarter. Standout performers included pharmaceutical manufacturing (50.2 percent rise) and electrical machinery (814.3 percent surge). More than half of the city's 31 major industrial categories reported gains.
Inner Mongolia CLP Energy Storage, Hohhot's first large independent energy storage R&D base, exemplified new growth drivers. It broke through in large-capacity batteries and produced storage products adapting wind-solar projects to fill regional gaps. The firm, which is expanding production lines, achieved 600 million yuan ($83.6 million) output in the first half of the year, 115 percent of last year's total.
Improving industrial chains and project efficiency are shifting the sector from stability to progress, with emerging new industries and models laying a solid foundation for full-year high-quality growth.
