A cultural troupe from the Inner Mongolia Art Theatre in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region captivated audiences at the 41st International Folk Festival on Aug 23 in Bergamo Province, Italy.
The performance took place at the historic Piazza Vecchia in Bergamo's old town, drawing groups and spectators from around the world.
The Inner Mongolia troupe presented a lively showcase of Mongolian art, including long-song performances, traditional dances, and horsehead fiddle ensembles. The highlight came when throat singing was paired with the beloved Italian folk song O Sole Mio, deepening cultural connections between China and Italy.

Thunderous applause and cheers filled the square, culminating in a symbolic tribute – 100 tolls of Bergamo's city bells, the city's highest honor for visiting performers.
Bergamo Province President Pasquale Gandolfi praised the troupe's artistry, noting the timeless appeal of Inner Mongolia's music, dance, and costumes. He recalled his 2024 cultural visit to Hohhot, the autonomous region's capital city, which inspired him to invite the troupe to Italy. "I am delighted to see this exchange realized," he said.
