Ejine Banner and Arxan city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region have been listed among the Top 8 Underrated Chinese Cities for the 2025 National Day holiday by leading travel platform Mafengwo.

Topping the list is Arxan, a picturesque city nestled deep in the Greater Hinggan Mountains. In autumn, its volcanic landscapes and vast forests blend into a vivid canvas of golden larch and crimson oak. Tuofengling Lake glistens like a jewel amid the mountains, while reindeer wander misty rivers and pine woods.

Ejine Banner, which ranked eighth, is famed for its breathtaking populus euphratica forests that attract visitors from across China each fall.

During this year's holiday, the banner launched the 26th Ejine Golden Autumn Populus Ecological Culture and Tourism Festival. Highlights included a group wedding ceremony, the 2025 Ejine Populus Forest Super Cross-Country Race, and the 9th China Ejine Populus Forest Cycling Race, offering travelers a holiday filled with culture, sport, and romance.
