Inner Mongolia sees holiday consumption boom

During the eight-day National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays from Oct 1 to 8, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region emerged as a top travel destination across China.
According to the regional department of culture and tourism, the region welcomed 25.31 million domestic tourists, up 10.28 percent year on year. They generated 17.69 billion yuan ($2.46 billion) in tourism revenue, an increase of 9.77 percent.
Cultural and tourism departments across Inner Mongolia rolled out a diverse range of tourism products and events, attracting visitors and boosting local industries. The Inner Mongolia Museum alone hosted 28 activities, drawing 187,000 visitors during the holiday.
Vibrant cultural tourism fueled consumer enthusiasm, combining leisure with quality living. Data from the regional department of commerce showed that sales at 292 key monitored commercial enterprises rose 3.5 percent year on year, with steady growth in retail, dining, and cultural tourism consumption, reflecting the region's robust economy and strong market outlook.
