North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region announced its successful establishment of a high-quality development standard system on Oct 14. This achievement included phased standards for the comprehensive management of the Horqin and Hunshandake sandy lands, as well as for desertification control.

Since 2022, Inner Mongolia has leveraged standardization to advance ecological protection, green and low-carbon growth, and resource efficiency, aiming at constructing a national ecological security barrier.

The region has developed 23 high-quality development standard systems and released 298 related standards, providing strong support for strengthening China's northern ecological security and advancing the "Three-North" Forest Shelterbelt Program.

In parallel, the regional administration for market regulation, together with local departments, has developed 154 high-quality standard systems. It has led or contributed to creating 21 international standards and 1,715 national standards, and has initiated 572 national and regional standardization pilot projects. The region has also established two national technical standard innovation bases and is preparing to set up a national standard verification point.

Looking ahead, Inner Mongolia will continue to implement the National Standardization Development Outline, ensuring that ecological restoration, innovation, industrial transformation, market regulation, and public welfare all operate with clear standards – driving full-chain upgrades through "standards + industry", "standards + products" and "standards + brands".
