Inner Mongolia delegation shines at 15th National Games of China

The 15th National Games of China opened on Nov 9 at the Guangdong Olympic Sports Center. The Inner Mongolia delegation made an appearance during the grand ceremony, led by flag bearer Yang Liu, gold medalist at the Hangzhou Asian Games and silver medalist at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Held from Nov 9 to 21 across Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, the Games feature 34 major events and 419 sub-events.
The Inner Mongolia delegation is competing in 18 major events and 86 sub-events. So far, the team has completed competitions in modern pentathlon, taekwondo, shooting, and sailing, earning one gold, three bronze medals, and eight finalist placements.

In the coming days, athletes from Inner Mongolia will enter the final stages of key events such as boxing, judo, wrestling, swimming, and hockey. They are aiming for breakthroughs in men's 51 kg boxing, women's 66 kg and 75 kg boxing, men's 90 kg and 100 kg judo, women's 76 kg freestyle wrestling, men's field hockey, and men's 200m butterfly swimming.
Flag bearer Yang Liu is competing in the women's 66 kg boxing event. Before the opening ceremony, she secured decisive victories over athletes from Sichuan and Gansu, advancing to the semifinals and emerging as a strong contender for the gold medal.
