Sixteen companies in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region have been approved to use China's geographical indication (GI) labels, securing national-level protection for their products.

These companies operate in Hulunbuir, Chifeng, and Ulaanqab and offer a wide range of products, including Aohan Millet, Arong Soybeans, Arong Corn, Genhe Black Fungus, Yakeshi Potatoes, Shangdu Celery, Qahar Lamb, and Horqin Left Wing Rear Banner Rice.

The GI label serves as a national endorsement of product quality and regional characteristics, indicating compliance with strict standards on raw materials, production processes, and quality control. Approved companies may display the GI mark on product packaging, enhancing brand recognition, market credibility, and competitiveness.

By strengthening full-chain protection and curbing counterfeits, the initiative safeguards consumers and adds a "national seal of quality" to Inner Mongolia's featured agricultural and livestock products, supporting the high-quality development of regional specialty industries.
