By Lu Wei Updated: 2018-11-16

Chunkun Mountain covers an area of 30 square meters. It is the largest alpine meadow grassland in the central and western part of the autonomous region and has hot springs available all year round.

The mountain is classed as a national 3A-level scenic area and in 2014 was recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture for its spectacular grasslands.

The main peak, Hongqi Peak, sits at 2,340 meters above sea level –– the highest altitude in Baotou city. Even on the hottest days, tourists can feel the breeze standing on top of the peak.
