Chunkun Mountain
Chunkun Mountain covers an area of 30 square kilometers. It is the largest alpine meadow grassland in the central and western part of the autonomous region and has hot springs available all year round.
The mountain is classed as a national 3A-level scenic area and in 2014 was recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture for its spectacular grasslands.
The main peak, Hongqi Peak, sits at 2,340 meters above sea level –– the highest altitude in Baotou city. Even on the hottest days, tourists can feel the breeze standing on top of the peak.

Starting from Guyang county, along the Baotou-Guyang Highway, drive east along the S311 Provincial Highway. You will see three signs indicating the scenic area of Chunkun Mountain along the way. Turn left at the third signpost. Although this road section is a double asphalt road, there are some very sharp bends. Please drive carefully. You will see the signpost for Chunkang Mountain after driving for about 16 kilometers. Turn right, drive for 1 km and you will arrive at the reception center for the scenic area.
