A glass bridge measuring 229 meters in length was recently opened at a scenic area called Huawu Renjian, located in Baotou, in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, according to a report in the Baotou Daily.
The scenic resort, located in the Xiguitu new district of Shiguai, covers an area of 253 hectares.
The glass bridge is the first and only of its kind in Baotou city, featuring special lights and sound effects and it cost more than 20 million yuan ($2.83 million). The main body of the bridge is chiefly made of special steel and ultrahard glass.
One square meter of glass on the bridge can withstand about 800 kilograms of pressure, equal to the weight of about 10 adults.
