Hohhot's food lovers say that millet stir-fried in butter means Mongolian millet.

It is a traditional food served in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region that features millet using several processes including steaming, frying and grinding.

It is the staple food for the Mongolian people and can be eaten in several styles.

Place rice in a bowl and soak with milk tea until it is soft, eat it with milk, or mix it with white cream and sugar -- or cook it with fresh milk and fried rice porridge, or you can cook it with rice porridge.

It can also be eaten dry.
