Baotou Airport has coordinated with airlines to continue increasing and resuming flights from June 28 -- to help resume work and operations and meet the travel needs of the general public, according to a report in the Baotou Daily.
Airport officials said that as the domestic novel coronavirus epidemic prevention and control situation gradually improves, the general public's travel needs continue to increase.
From June 25 to June 27, Baotou Airport operated some 100 flights, serving more than 9,000 passengers and handled 26 tons of cargo and mail.
On June 28, the Baotou-Chongqing flight was rescheduled to fly once a day. On June 30, the Baotou-Tianjin flight resumed operations and is scheduled to fly every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, officials said the Baotou-Dalian flight was adjusted from four flights per week to two flights every day starting from June 30.
The Baotou-Zhengzhou service was increased to fly three times a day on July 1 and the Baotou-Hefei flight was increased to fly once to twice a day.
Officials said that during the epidemic prevention and control period, Baotou Airport will continue to conduct body temperature monitoring -- as well as frequent environmental ventilation and disinfections -- to ensure the safety of passengers.
