Inner Mongolia has one museum per 130,000

According to the Department of Culture of the Inner Mongolia autonomous region on March 20, there is one museum per 130,000 people in Inner Mongolia, which is more than the national average, which is one museum for a population of 250,000.

There are 189 museums all over the region: 135 state-owned museums, 11 industrial museums and 43 private-owned ones.

Also, Inner Mongolia has more museums and memorials with free admission, 128 in total.

In the last five years, 259 million yuan ($41.67 million) has been invested for the free admissions at museums and memorials, of which 207 million yuan was financed by the central government and 52 million yuan by local public funds. So far, more than 30 million visitors went to the museums and memorials.
