Students from North Heavy Industry No 3 High School in Baotou, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, topped the Baotou division of NOC (Novelty Originality Creativity), a national information technology innovation and practice competition, on June 12, according to Baotou Daily.

The winners will attend the national final on behalf of Baotou city. The final is to take place in Baotou from July 20 to 27.

NOC, now in its 16th year, aims to promote the learning, exploration, research and skills of young technology enthusiasts in high-tech fields such as electronics, information, and automatic control.

Baotou has been an active participant in NOC since its establishment in 2002. The city sent a municipal-level representative team consisting of 410 students and teachers to participate in the national final of the 15th NOC, which was held in Qingdao, a coastal city in Shandong province, with the team’s group score netting it third place.
